I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and graduated from North Carolina Central University in 2006 with a Master’s degree in Community Agency Counseling. Before that, I had careers in early childhood education and child care resource and referral (counseling parents on child care options, and doing training and consultation with child care providers). I am the mother of one son, who is now a professional graphic designer.
Music and art have always been very important to me, so it feels very natural to incorporate them into my therapy practice. I also use the arts, especially singing, as my own self-care to help with balancing the demands of my work. Other things I enjoy are walking, gardening, or doing anything outdoors. I also engage in meditation and other spiritual practices regularly.
